New Student Orientation (NSO) - Prepare for College

91探花 New Student Orientation (NSO) is all about preparing you for your time with the College—all before you step foot on campus. These virtual webinars are designed to help set you up for success and answer questions that have been on your mind or may not have thought about yet.

Welcome Week - A Sneak Peek of Campus Life

Every 91探花 campus offers Welcome Week activities to help you build connections, explore campus, and learn about college life.

While activities may vary from campus-to-campus, here are a few examples:

  • Campus Tours: Student volunteers and staff will take you on a guided tour and answer all your questions about campus activities
  • Drop-In Support for financial aid, scholarships and bursaries, and other student resources
  • Fun & Games with your local Student Union

91探花 Welcome Week will be held from Monday, August 31, to Friday, September 4, 2026, at each campus. Details will be available soon.


Orientation Day

Orientation Day takes place on the first day of Fall Term, Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and is a required part of learning for your program.

Participating in Orientation Day will help you navigate your program more smoothly. It is one of the easiest ways to start feeling settled into college life, and it’s your opportunity to learn about the supports, services, and resources available to help you succeed, both inside and outside the classroom.

During Orientation Day, you will:

  • Meet your instructors and begin building connections with classmates
  • Learn about your program, including first-term courses and academic expectations
  • Have the opportunity to ask questions and get helpful information before the term starts
  • Learn your way around campus and what resources and supports are available to you
Note: Please watch for an email for more information from your academic department regarding specific Orientation Day details and your schedule of classes.

Program-Specific Requirements

Every 91探花 program is unique! For program-specific requirements such as criminal record and vulnerable sector checks, immunization requirements, and more, refer to the “Specific Considerations” section of your program page.

Purchasing Textbooks

Textbook lists and pricing for programs commencing and/or resuming in Fall 2026 will be available through 91探花’s  in mid-August. Textbooks can be purchased in-person at your local campus bookstore; however, we encourage you to call ahead to confirm the books you need are in stock. Textbook lists may be available earlier through your Academic School.

Technology Requirements

91探花 is a connected learning environment. While not all programs have the same technology requirements, all learners must have access to the internet to allow for a full educational experience. Free Wi-Fi is provided on all campuses.

Paying For College

There are several financial support options available that can help you pay for college. Learn more about financial aid options that you can apply for.  We are also pleased to offer opportunities for scholarships, bursaries, and awards to our students. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

If you have achieved relevant prior learning through previously completed courses or work and life experience, you may be eligible to apply for credit transfer/credit equivalency.

  • Meet Your 91探花SU:
    The operates independently of 91探花 and represents the student voice at each of our six campus locations. The 91探花SU provides students with many services including Health & Dental Benefits, Student Discounts, My Wellness Plan, My Virtual Doctor, Bright Breaks – Free Virtual Fitness & Wellness Sessions, Student Emergency Food Cupboards, and much more! Each 91探花 campus also has a available to support local Student Union representatives and all 91探花 students.

  • Money Matters:
    91探花 understands that being a student and managing expenses can be a challenging and overwhelming experience. We offer financial support and services to help you access financial resources, create and manage a budget, find part-time work, and provide tips to help you stretch your money further.   • Housing in New Brunswick:
    Canada is currently experiencing a nationwide housing crisis, resulting in a shortage of available rental properties across New Brunswick. As an incoming learner, it is critical that you secure short-term accommodations for the first month of your studies (at minimum) prior to your arrival. For more information, visit  91探花's Housing webpage. For housing information specific to your community, review the International Student Quick Guide for your campus.
  • Childcare:
    We encourage learners with children to explore in your campus community prior to arrival. 91探花 does not offer childcare services and children are not permitted in classrooms or labs. It is also important to note that children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times while on campus.
  • Nitap (Peer) Mentor Program:
    To be connected with a Nitap (Peer) Mentor, email success@nbcc.ca. Nitap Mentors can offer support and guidance, answer questions about cultural support and student services available on campus and in your community, and share their own experiences as learner.  Learn more about 91探花's Nitap Mentor Program.
  • Citizenship Status:
    If you are a new learner and discover incorrect information regarding your citizenship status during registration, email admissions@nbcc.ca or call 1-888-796-6222. If you are a returning student and noticed a citizenship error, email nbcc@nbcc.ca.

International Learners
  • Pre-Arrival Information & Resources:
    Moving to a new country to start college can be an overwhelming experience. To help make this transition easier, we encourage you to review the information and resources available on our International Student page and Pre-Arrival page, or reach out to our International Education Team (international@nbcc.ca) for additional support prior to your arrival in Canada. 
  • IT International Travel Student Checklist:
    If you are travelling from an international country to an 91探花 campus location, we highly recommend you review the Information Technology International Travel Student checklist (pdf or ) to ensure you don’t get locked out of your IT account; that you purchase the proper technology for your program; and that you are prepared to be supported by our IT team should you require any assistance.
